Sir William Jardine was a 19th-century Scottish naturalist most known for his extensive series of books on natural history, 'The Naturalist's Library'.
This 1841 edition of Jardine's "Mammalia" is impressively illustrated with 33 color engravings of horses. This tome is often considered one of the most desirable of all of Jardine's volumes because of the exquisite views of horses. This volume also showcases the zebra and other horses from around the world – ex: Africa, Peru, Hungary.
