St. Louis: National Game Publishing Company, 1910. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. 410pp. Gift inscription: "With regards to Wayne Eberly, From Chas. Schuman. Feb 2 - '11. Sec. Detroit B.B.C." Rubbing on the cloth, a very good or better copy. Additionally tipped-into the book is an age-toned blank bearing an inscription from Spink: "To Glenn Spink, my dear grand son with best love and wishes. And this fatherly advice: Love your father and mother. Never be mean, never be cruel, never be selfish in anything. A.H. Spink. Sept. 1919." Tiny pencil note from a collector on that page noting that the page was removed from an otherwise destroyed copy of this book. The sportswriters' wing of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is named after Spink. An attractive copy of a scarce and important book, a better than usual copy.
