(Norwalk CT): (The O'Brien Suburban Press), 1943. Softcover. Fine. 1943 edition. Red cloth. A few light stains on the front board, else a very good or better, internally fine copy. Signed by Nat Fleischer. The first edition consisted of 1000 copies, plus a second issue of 500 copies and is virtually unobtainable, the second of 1500 copies bound, as this one is, in cloth. Fleischer attempted to capitalize on the quick sale of the 1941 edition by offering this very slightly amended edition during the first few weeks of 1942, this would technically be the third edition, one of 1500 copies in cloth and 500 in wraps. Scarce.

Formerly the property of a trainer, this copy has been signed in ink and in pencil by some 50 figures from the boxing world and elsewhere. Among the boxers are Jim Braddock, Joe Louis and Ray Robinson. Cartoonist Ham Fisher signed the book with a drawing of “Joe Palooka.” Additionally signed by Joe DiMaggio, Toots Shor, and J. Edgar Hoover.
