Dust jacket protected with a mylar covering. Exterior shows moderate plus wear including soiling/stains exteriorly, several instances of chipping to the head/tail edges, small chips to rear and slight age toning. Octavo navy cloth spine gilt titled (slight marking) xxii +217pp date to endpaper else no other writing, clean and tight. *From a previously unpublished manuscript written in longhand in 1860. It describes his overland journey to Oregon in 1845, his escape from Indians, gold seeking, trading with the Indians, his captivity etc.
