First issue dustjacket with correct price printed on front flap (six dollars) and no zip code on rear panel. Beginning page toning and spine cloth slightly pushed, spine gilt lettering intact; dustjacket with a quarter-inch closed tear and shallow crease at the front panel topedge, toning on the rear flap fold, touch of wear at the front panel upper corner and spine topedge. A clean, tight and bright copy. Near Fine condition in a Very Good dustjacket with an archival cover.Burroughs' most famous work and permanent entry in the Beat-era canon. Synopsis
Naked Lunch (sometimes referred to as The Naked Lunch) is a novel by William S. Burroughs originally published in 1959. The book was originally published with the title The Naked Lunch in Paris in 1959 by Olympia Press. An American edition by Grove Press followed soon after in 1962. The American edition was titled Naked Lunch and was substantially different from the Olympia Press edition, because it was based on an earlier 1958 manuscript in Allen Ginsberg's possession.
