First Edition Cloth Good-Very Good (with detractions as noted above) 4to (8 x 11), 79 pp. Signed and numbered in blue ink on Title Page (No. 131 -- To the Hunts: Yours Truly, Franc Johnson Newcomb Navajo Reservation). 14 b&w illustrations plus double page full color illustration on tan paper of sand painting showing Brown Gila Monsters and Horned Toads with a black center indicating the darkness of their underground home. All pages present and tight. Binding is brick red cloth with title on pasted-on label on cover. This label is partially torn away. Paste-on spine label with title and author is relatively complete, but has been glued back on where it had separated. There are various small ink check-marks beside many of the paragraphs and some light red pencil underlining in first half of book, none of which interefere with reading. Slight staining/foxing on edges of pages. B4
