Andre Deutsch, London, 1964. First Hardback Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: John Verney. 158pp., last 2 blank. The text is illustrated with black-and-white illustrations by John Verney. Red coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Bumping to the head and heel of the spine and to that top right-hand corner of the front panel. Some fading of the cloth of the book and foxing has occurred to the paper edges. Some marks to the endpapers. Original bookseller' s stamp to the page between free front endpaper and half title page. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by John Verney, with pink and black writing on the front panel and black on the spine. Rubbing and slight chipping to the dust wrapper corners and to the top and bottom of the spine. Grubby marks to the back panel along with farm stains. Results of insect activity can be seen on the lower spine and lower edges of the front panel. Some creasing and chipping the top and bottom dust wrapper edge. Dust wrapper is price could, front fold over, lower right hand corner. A series of adventures of "My Uncle", a salty sea captain who has a fund of tall tales.". Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
