Text is clean and unmarked in a square and tight binding. Covers are smudged and stained. Volume is age toned. Foxing is present on the free end papers. Frontispiece and tissue guard are included. "Inequality of opportunity with its concomitant result, involuntary poverty, was the social wrong. To restore equality of opportunity by securing to each worker the product of his own labor, thereby depriving a privileged few from monoploizing rewards which belong to the many, was the social remedy. His programme was definite and complete. Inside front cover stamped "No. 704 of a memorial edition of 1,000 copies." Light soil on edges and light bumping of spine. Endpaper joints mostly split but binding still firm. Light scuff marks on rear cover. Text clean and fairly bright except for toning of preliminary pages. No markings. Edited by Elizabeth J. Hauser. Johnson, a reform mayor in Cleveland circa 1910, recounts his political career and philosophy. Influenced by Henry George, he was a proponent of municipal utilties. Size: 8vo -- 7.5 In Tall.
