Washington DC: GPO, 1947. Paperback. 83p., worn wraps slightly soiled, red penciling on front wrap, else good condition, seven folded plates with reproductions of his immigration application and other evidence. Eisler was snitched off by Louis Budenz, hauled before HUAC as the Comintern's commissar of USA --"Stalin's chief agent here." hwas a German politician. Along with his sister Ruth Fischer, he was a very early member of the Austrian German Communist Party (KPDÖ) and then a prominent member of the Communist Party of Germany during the Weimar Republic. He protested he was simply a German communist exile.

New York: The German American, Inc., [1947?]. First edition. Small 8vo (5¼" x 8"); stapled newsprint wrappers, 16 pp. A reprint of a speech delivered by the German anti-fascist, Gerhart Eisler, before a meeting of the German American, Inc. on Dec. 11, 1946. Eisler was a prominent and peripatetic German Communist who was alleged to have directed the Communist Party USA during and after WWII. He was tried in 1947 and 1948 and jumped bail by stowing away on a ship to England. He later fled to East Germany where he became chief of East German Radio. Brittle newsprint paper is browning with top corner slightly chipped. Uncommon in the trade with a little less than two dozen copies found in OCLC.
