In My Golfing Life Mr. Vardon reviews his golfing experiences and looks back over a career that stands out in golf history as one of the greatest" (Murdoch 818). Vardon was a member of the Great Triumvirate of the sport in his day, along with John Henry Taylor and James Braid. He went on to win The British Open Championship a record six times and also won the U.S. Open.
