London; nd(ca.1919-1920): Martin Secker/ Printed by the Chiswick Press. Octavo. 2nd impression. In two volumes. Part One, 1888 to 1900: 512pp. Begins with his travels, first to Greece, Egypt, on to the Boar War. Spencer Part II, 1900 to 1914, 511 pages, index, begins with Death of Queen Victoria in 1901 and deals with Morocco, Kakabah, and Germany's declaration of War. Appendices deal with the Grand Mufti (Egypt) letter to Count Tolsoi, the Italian massacre of the Arab peasants, miss Francies Jennings and Miss Elizabeth Lawrence. Bound in a blue gray cloth lettered in gilt, top edges gilt, old tape used to keep clear mylar on leaving tape residue, spine ends darkened with a black residue(?) corners lightly bumped. A very good set.
