London: John Lane / The Bodley Head, 1923. Mystery novel. FIRST EDITION, octavo, pp.319; [1], blank. Printed on thick paper. Bound in a 'Times' or W.H.Smith' binding of brown cloth titled and trimmed in black. Some expected foxing to paperstock, text block a little toned to edges, some acceptable wear to joints. A very good copy in a contemporary cloth binding; whilst this is not the publisher's binding, it would seem preferable to a modern rebind. A baffling case for Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. The third of Christie's 66 original crime novels, being the rarest title in first edition. Wagstaff & Poole; A Christie Bibliography. See also Cooper & Pike; Detective Fiction. HUBIN; Crime Fiction IV.

We have 2 copies available starting at £1,500.00.
