About This Item

U.S.A.: Charles Thomas. Foreword by R. S. Allison. The epidemiological studies carried out in Northern Ireland are based on the records of over fifteen hundred patients examined and investigated in the department of neurology in Belfast. In addition, field studies have been undertaken in the countryside and a widespread search has been made to find all cases in the area. The opportunity has been taken to review some of the recent literature concerning differential diagnosis, epidemiology, bio-chemistry, virology and immunology related to the subject and to report recent work carried out in the department in Belfast. There is increasing evidence that the disease is due to an enviornmental agent operating in choldhood probably before the age of fifteen years of age. The chapter on treatment and management is based largely on personal experience in dealing with this very difficult problem. 98 pp. Some wear and marks to D/J. . Fine. Cloth. First Edition. 1971.
