Very Good. 32pp. Contains many recipes for breakfast and tea cakes, puddings and pies, dessert cakes, side dishes and relishes, pickles and preserves, and home remedies, along with ads and testimonials for Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup, Brown's Bronchial Troches and Vermifuge Comfits, and The Household Panacea. Bound in printed yellow wrappers. 6.25" x 3.75" "In the 1840s, Charlotte N. Winslow developed a medicine to quiet restless and teething infants and children. Her daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Jeremiah Curtis, became proprietors of the patent medicine. The syrup had 65 mg morphine per fluid ounce" (WorldCat note).
