Updated 1945 edition which includes dishes for vegetarians, dishes from Australia and South africa and 'modern' home appliances. Maybe missing a frontispiece.

No date, but looking at the foreword and style, this is circa 1948-50 including new plates designed after the originals were destroyed in the Blitz. Dull gilt original red faux leather spine, very clean and new looking. Boards are bright. All plates intact, illustrated throughout. Some damp minor damp to base of leaves. Loss of 2cm square to prelim advert, not affecting text. No inscriptions. A really nice example of this domestic classic. With 16 plates in colour and nearly 350 illustrations. 8vo; maroon cloth-backed pale grey cloth over boards, lettered in black on spine; pp. xvi + 1680; adverts
