Illustrated with woodcuts from Kent, as well as a "scrapbook" of maps and images from the author's personal collection at rear (included in pagination). 8vo, light blue cloth with dark blue device to front, gilt lettered dark blue title block to spine. The memoirs of the former mayor of Narvik, Norway, detailing his arrival in the town in 1930 after having spent his formative years in Oslo; his building a home north of the Arctic Circle and eventually being elected mayor; finishing up with a gripping account of the arrival of the Germans in April 1940, and the subsequent occupation. At the time of this volume's publication, Broch was associated with the exiled Royal Norwegian Signed by Author on front fep. Book condition GOOD. No other inscriptions, Boards / Spine slight wear. Internally text and contents VG.
