Dark blue cloth-covered boards with yellow lettering. Dark blue endpapers with stylized white flower design. Missing dustjacket. Covers bumped at corners and spine ends with a small dampstain to cloth along very bottom edge with some moderate fading and scuffing to front and back. Front hinge just starting to show cracks between endpapers, opening a bit easily but with binding still holding soundly. Small, clean tear at bottom of front free endpaper, with illustrated bookplate of Gene Gabel and Martin Helfin attached above. Topstain faded, with a couple waterspots on bottom page edges, not encroaching into page margins. Last two pages chipped at fore-edge margin, with no loss to text. Pages unmarked. Faulkner's satirical second novel, largely inspired by his time in New Orleans. [Daniel p9].
