Good/Good. foreward by Rene Dubos, preface by author, topical bibliography and index. 1/4 red coloured cloth covered backstrip with gilt titles. 3/4 tan coloured textured boards. A little bumping to the backstrip edges and rubbing to the book corners. Light age toning of the text block edges and of the internal text. Plain text dustwrapper with a yellow background and ochre and blue coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. There is a 0.5 " tear to the lower left-hand corner of the rear dustwrapper panel. Rubbing and handling marks to the dustwrapper panels, particularly the rear panel.
