Limited edition, number 346 of 750 signed by author on verso of half-title. pp xiii, 138, with frontispiece and 15 other color plates and c. 35 additional plates in black and white. Some toning and spotting to edges of boards, pages edges and endpapers; internals very clean. Dust jacket only partially present: price-clipped, spine panes missing (the remainer in mylar), but in original carboard slipcase."Peter's Scott's paintings of wildfowl, are already well known if only through three exhibitions ... There are many painters of birds and many artists of vigour, but not many who are both ... He lives in a lighthouse, with sea, sky and birds around him; his book smells of the saltings, and his pictures, bring a rush of memory to any man who has delighted in wild places" (dust jacket).
