The Heritage Press, 1941. Hardcover. As New. 1941 Heritage Press edition in slip case. Tan linen boards with brown type are like new with no wear. Spine is slightly darker from sunning. Book appears unread. Edges are clean. Binding is very tight and straight. Top edge stain is a deep chocolate color. No dust jacket as issued. Pages are clean, bright, like new. Slipcase is brown with very minimal to no wear.

Synopsis

The Moon and Sixpence is a 1919 short novel by William Somerset Maugham based on the life of the painter Paul Gauguin. The story is told in episodic form by the first-person narrator as a series of glimpses into the mind and soul of the central character, Charles Strickland, a middle aged English stock broker who abandons his wife and children abruptly to pursue his desire to become an artist.
