This is the first impression of the first edition and bears all the hallmarks of having been well looked after over the years. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. Circular Margaret Tempest colour pictoral illustration onlaid to front board remains in excellent condition. Superbly illustrated throughout in colour by the inimitable Margaret Tempest. Double matching endpapers to front and rear of book. A very fresh copy with only the slightest signs of handling. Photographs of the book are available at your request. A lovely copy in near fine condition of a perennial childrens favourite. A scarce Alison Uttley title to encounter in the first edition..
