Cleveland: J.P. Abernethy, 1887. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Blind-embossed brown cloth with gilt lettering and pictorial stamping. 423pp, (1p), iv. Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good. Mild edgewear; 1890 ownership signature on inner flyleaf. "Sixth Edition, Revised and Enlarged" of this in-depth telegraphy DIY manual. Clearly the 1890 owner was an aspiring telegraph operator, for he places miniscule pencilled checkmarks alongside lists of abbreviations and, on pages 284-87, he pencils and inks in the many blanks on the sample "Forms of Train Orders," etc. Quite interesting.
