New York and London: Literary Digest Books/Funk & Wagnalls Company, 1934. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/No Dust Jacket [as issued]. Deluxe Edition, navy blue leather, ribbed spines, titles and art deco design stamped in gilt on spine, boards blind ruled, all edges gilt, blue endpapers. A beautiful set and quite rare in this binding, the ultimate in gunsmithing books.Volume I signed by the author "With the best/wishes of the author/ J.V. Howe/1934". Former owner's name stamp in both volumes otherwise unmarked. Both volumes are in like condition which is very close to fine, with no significant flaws. James Virgil Howe is the "Howe" of the famed Griffin and Howe firearms. Photos on request.
