The front of board is VERY badly discoloured and rubbed, and the real board is worse: vol VI; viii, 208 pages., 8 full-page plates plus numerous other diagrams and cross sections and tables, and a general index for the six volumes. This is a nice set, generally only found in individual volumes, vol 1 starts off by referring to the possibility of future volumes, and in the preface to vol VI, the author states "this volume concludes of the subject of the work with reference principally to steam generators and transmission of power" and is dated Glasgow, July 1905. Each volume has pasted into the front paste down the previous owner's discrete book plate. Some of the book plates have had the name obliterated. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
