About This Item
New York: The Museum of Modern Art, 2000. First Edition, First Printing. Wraps. Very Good+. 1 vol. (560 p.) : ill. ; 26 cm. Softcover. Book condition: spine a little slanted, tiny creases here and there else fine. Five hundred and fifty four artists are represented, often with multiple representations of their work. Possibly the book to get if you could only have a single MOMA publication; they've opened up their permanent collection and brought a big chunk of it into the light. A nice copy; MOMA's usual practice in situations such as this is to farm out the hardcover publishing (in this case to Thames & Hudson in London for European distribution and Abrams in the U.S. for hardcover distribution in the states) and we find ourselves chosing the softcover more often than not. Maybe our imagination but we think it is noticeable which of the two reflects the more artfully produced choice. Published in accordance with the Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, September 28, 2000-January 30, 2001.
