Georg Fabricius was an important 16th-century Protestant German author who is responsible for some of the best editions of Greek and Roman classics such as Terence, Virgil, and Horace. And while his commentary on classical literature is without a doubt his best work, he is also known for a study on the history of Christian religion. He published a number of sacred poems as well in which he sought to completely avoid all traces of paganism.

Georg Sabinus was a 16th-century German poet and historian who published an important catalogue of the emperors of Rome. Curiously, Sabinus supplemented the lists of Roman rulers with lists of German leaders. Each entry features a short description of the figure including some of which are written in poetic verse. It includes all the known Roman and German rulers such as Charlemagne, Otto the Great, Charles V, Constantine, Julius Caesar, Nero, and Augustus Caesar.

1589 Ammiani Renaissance Preacher Manual anti-Lutheran Augustinian Italian Monks

Sebastian Ammiani was a 16th-century Augustinian monk from Fano who made important contributions to the development of preachers in Italy. Ammiani, a hermit, was notably not a preacher himself, but he wrote a book entitled 'Discorsi Predicabili per Documento' in which he taught preachers how to better at giving their speeches. This book was also incredibly anti-Lutheran. Certain passages of this book included picturesque phrases and paragraphs detailing the devastation that Lutheran preachers had brought to the world.
