The Crescent Press, London, 1951. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Good. Introduction by translator, bibliographical note, author's preface and index. Light brown coloured cloth covered boards with gold coloured titles to the back strip. Plain text dustwrapper with white and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. This book was written in approximately 1080 CE by the Persian ruler Keikavus to his son Gilanshah on all things courtly. The book was written in 44 chapters it outlines princely education, manners, and conduct in an ethical manner. Softening and sunning of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Tanning of the textbook edges along with some scattered foxing. Offset tanning and faint foxing to the end pages. Some foxing spots throughout, mainly at the beginning and end of the book. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges – a previous owner has supported four out of the six edges with tape, tape still in situ. Some rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and signing of the rear panel. Tape residue can be seen, and there is a 2 inch split to the top edge of the front fold over crease. Sunning to the back strip.
