St. Paul, Minn; 1890 and 1899: The Pioneer Press Co. Quarto. The First Minnesota regiment sustained their greatest loss at Gettysburg. The regiment were engaged in battles at Vicksburg, Chattanooga, Nashville and Atlanta. The roster within the first volume contains the names of 26, 717 men and describes the action taken with each regiment involved as recorded by their respective Captain or General. Volume two contains the official reports and correspondence which expands into more detail of the battles, campaigns, expeditions, etc. Two volumes, Vol. I; first edition, 844pp.bound in 3/4 burgundy morocco over marbled paper covered boards, spine lettered and ruled in gilt, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, some corner wear and light chipping and wear to spine ends, front joint cracked but holding well. Vol. II; Second edition, 654pp., bound in burgundy morocco over marbled paper covered boards, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, spine lettered and decorated in gilt unlike the first volume which is simply lettered and ruled. A good set.
