A very good set rebound in full polished calf. James Welsh served in the army of the East India Company in the Madras Presidency from 1791, taking part in the seige of Pondicherry, the capture of Ceylon, and the Mahratta war. This book includes a description of Penang and Malacca which the author visited in 1818 en route to China.
