Translated by Paul Chamberlen. 2 parts bound together, separate pagination, 134 pp + 620 pp and an additional 20 page index. 12 magnificent black and white copperplates, 9 are folding. Rubricated title page. Full contemporary leather with raised bands, age worn with inner hinges repaired. Tan leather label on spine. Minor foxing and repairs to plates most of which have the top margin cropped. Clean tight text block. Bookplate "Virtus Semper Viridis" on inside front cover London: W. Rayner, 1736. Scarce.<br/><br/> Part I describes the battles and sieges which Prince Eugene (1663-1736) commanded. There are 10 lavish battle scenes depicted including, Stafford, Zenta, Luzzara, Hochsted, Cassano, Turin, Gueldre, Oudenarde, Mons, and Belgrade. Part II is a military history of the Duke of Marlborough (1750-1722) and includes a nice portrait of the Duke.<br/><br/>
