Illustrated and pages, both different, the front and page showing a meeting of the Protestant leaders of Germany, and at the rear and page shows a procession of Elizabeth I. The text is illustrated with copious black-and-white and coloured contemporary illustrations and the occasional colour and black and white photograph. Green coloured padded boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dust wrapper, showing Henry VIII and his children, with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. This book, penned by various experts in their field, is a potted history of the world in the tumultuous 16th century, whose changes were the harbouring of the Renaissance and then further on to the modern world. It not only deals with Europe but also India, South America, Japan and England.  Minor rubbing of the back strip corners and book corners. A little age toning of the text block edges with a few small brown marks to the first few pages. Creasing of the dust wrapper edges and rubbing of the panels.
