St. Louis, 1943. First edition, one of 48 copies printed. Inscribed by the author, "For Frangeon Jones in gratitude for a gracious favor Loyd Haberly August, 1957". Octavo. Red leather-backed decorated boards. In very good condition. Perhaps Haberly's greatest production. Beautifully printed on fine, thick laid paper, with running titles in red and initials in green. Frontispiece, dedication, and 12 text illustrations, all original woodcuts by Haberly.

St. Louis: Loyd Haberly, 1943. First Edition. One of 48 copies “Written, Illustrated and Bound by Loyd Haberly.” Haberly also hand-colored the illustrations, set the type, and has inscribed this copy. Bound in full black morocco with the title in gilt on the spine and a gilt-decorated border on the front board. Every copy we’ve seen has been bound differently. Fine.
