The copy offered has the added attribute of being warmly inscribed by the author to his friend and colleague Mr E G Hayden Editor of the Mid-Sussex Times with some original b/w photographs incl portrait of the author mounted opposite to the title page, Group photo Mid Sussex Times staff circa 1900 with names annotated to some in ink including Mr Charles Clarke - seated with the office cat on his lap, Haywards Heath Fire Brigade 1921 and copious newsprint cuttings pasted in of subject and journalism connection. Some of the illustrations in the book have also been annotated with names of the personnel and there are many pencil notes in margins of text pages.
