Previous owner's name in pencil on back endpaper. Corners bumped, some wear at top, outer hinges, and bottom of spine. Minor foxing not effecting text, otherwise a very good, tight copy.. Red cloth hardcover, front cover and spine illustrated in gilt and black, octavo, x-xiii, 2-377 numbered pages, followed by 2 pages (2) maps and 6 pages of publisher's ads. Illustrated half-title and frontispiece and eighty-eight black and white full-page illustrations throughout.
