London: Henry Colburn, 1828. First Edition . Cloth - Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket. 591 & 730 pages, plus 13 plates and one of two large folding maps. LACKING THE FOLDING MAP OF MEXICO at the rear of Volume I. Half burgundy leather over spines and corners, and marbled paper over boards. Gilt stamped lettering and decoration on spine with slightly raised spine bands. Masonic lodge stamp is seen on the top edges of text block and a private book plate is seen on the front paste downs of each volume. Covers are a little scuffed. Lettering remains good on spines. Scattered, fairly light, foxing, and some darkening/age toning of paper is seen. There is a narrow crease seen on the first leaves of Volume I. Map of Routes to the principal Mining Districts remains good, with only a couple of small fold tears.
