About This Item

Durham, NC: Sacrum Press, 1987. First Edition Thus/Limited Edition. Hardcover. Fine. No DJ, as Issued. First Edition Thus/Limited Edition. Hardcover. A collection of essays on science/medical leaders and thier bibliophilic passions by none other than Osler, himself. Originally published as a private limited edition of 250 copies in 1959, this limited edition of 1000 copies was reprinted from one of those copies. The binding is also signficant, the blue boards a tribute to Osler's relationship with Oxford (where the essays were written) and the red cloth a tribute to McGill University (where the letters were sent). A very handsome copy. Tight, bright and unmarred. Quarterbound, red cloth spine, blue paper boards, gilt lettering, frontispiece. 8vo 67pp. Illus. (b/w plate).
