Illustrator: Leon Wolowski. 84 pages, introduction by artist, foreword by Karl Duldoig, acknowledgements and list of plates. The text is illustrated colour and black-and-white photographs of sculptures by Leon Wolowski. Photographic front cover, showing the work " The Matchmaker ", with a yellow background and black titles on the front panel and backstrip. An invocation ( in statues ) of a mostly forgotten way of life, and people, in the European Jewish shtetls of the early to middle twentieth century. Bumping and creasing to the book corners. Fading to front book panel and backstrip. A few blue ink marks to the rear book panel. Previous owners name to the top right-hand corner of the half title page. This is the first Australian edition.
