Thomas Cranmer was a 16th-century English reform leader known for his reign as Archbishop of Canterbury. Cranmer's life and ministry were recorded by numerous English author's in the following decades; however, none as are prominent as that of John Strype. Strype lived a century after Cranmer, but he was well respected for his historical biographies – including that on Cranmer.

'Memorials of Thomas Cranmer' is a complete survey of his life following his work as bishop, his interactions and dealings with Thomas Cromwell, letters and correspondence, as well as providing an in-depth look at the history of the Church of England and the English Reformation.
