Hardcover. 16mo., 16.5cm, x,11-300p., steel engraved frontis portrait of Captain Vicars, in contemporary half black roan, gilt ruled raised bands, gilt titles, marbled boards, some wear at the edges, some foxing, else a very good to fine sound copy Captain Vicars was stationed at Halifax, N.S., from June 1851 to May 1853 with the 97th regiment, which included a trip to Niagara Falls in the Autumn of 1851. The book mainly discusses matters religious but does contain some account of the details of day to day life in Halifax during this period.
