About This Item
Boston: Press of Geo. C. Rand & Avery, 1865. Paperback. Small 4to. Original tan printed wrappers. 61pp. Good plus. Outer wrapper attractive and largely free of edge tears, but delicate along the spine, which bears archival tape reinforcement. First edition. Very scarce sermon trilogy by the up-in-arms pastor of Boston's Shawmut Church. Hart cites 1000 copies. Top margin states "rare" in pencil in the hand, we believe, of noted Lincoln specialist and legendary bibliopole Ernest Wessen of Midland Rare Books, Ohio. MONAGHAN 806.
