About This Item
Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1973. Fine. FIRST US EDITION. x, n.p. + numerous b/w illustrations by Mila Lazarevich. Camel cloth with metallic blue lettering to spine and upper board. Illustrated endpapers. Gentle pushing to heel of spine, else, clean, bright and tight. In the original dust jacket: rubbing to spine and extremities, bottom edge of rear panel creased and nicked, a few short closed tears. Still, a rather lovely copy of the later American edition of Hughes' children's book. Near fine/ very good. A version of this work was published by Faber & Faber in 1961; the US edition includes four new poems, while 'My Grandpa' and 'Grandma' do not feature.
