Very clean and unmarked with light rubbing of edges, corners and spine ends. light scuffing of corner tips. Solid & tight sewn binding with endbands. Endpapers with interesting facsimile Early Twelfth Century English Manuscript of Bede's De Ratione Temporum. Former owner name on top of front endpaper. Pages clean, mp creasing, no tears. with underlining (some pencil, some red ink, some black ink) and highlighting throughout. Still, text remains clear and clean and very readable. Norman Cantor was a preeminent medieval historian, having taught medieval history at Columbia, Barnard, Princeton, John Hopkins, Yeshiva, and Manitoba. A brilliant narrative analysis of the mainstreams of development in the Middle Ages and what they actually meant in the lives of medieval peoples.
