The text is illustrated with 17 engravings, including four charts and diagrams – as per title page. Brown coloured cloth covered boards with self embossed decoration to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. First published in France in 1911, and, based on a series of lectures by Dr. Thoinot that he gave at the Medical School of Paris. His original focus was " ... To bring up to date the whole question of moral offences, some parts of which have taken on a singularly different aspect since Tardieu's classical and original work, and to create familiarity with the whole question of perversions of the sexual instinct, a question almost denied yesterday, and still unknown to the majority of physicians and students despite its triple interest, clinical, psychological, and medicolegal." – from the preface page III. The author gives a definition of each offence talked about – i.e. rape, fetishism, sadism etc., then gives example/s.  Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the top corners and lower book edges. A few francs stains to the book panels.
