Volume 1 is a second American edition, 1794, old laced repair to front joint. Volume 2 is a first American edition, 1793, rebound with new endpapers. Title-page has been professionally repaired and mounted on acid-free paper, then reinserted. We were missing this volume and bought it as described. (See photos). Volume 3 is "An Account of the Bilious Remitting Fever, as it Appeared in the City of Philadelphia, in the Year 1793". It is a second American edition, 1894, Front joint is weak but attached. Title-page and Preface show old water-stains. Volume 4 contains further account of yellow fever and a defence of blood-letting as a remedy for certain diseases. It is a first American edition, 1796 with minor water-staining top of title-page. Volume 5 includes further accounts of yellow fever and observations on the nature and cure of gout and hydrophobia. It is a first American edition, 1798. Three volumes have a small owner's book-plate on the front pastedown. Internal condition is generally quite clean, some toning of pages, usually peripheral, occasional brown-spotting and light staining. All-in-all, a very nice set of the works of Dr. Rush. 338, 321, 363, 258, 236pp. Benjamin Rush (1746-1813) was an American patroit, physician, politician, social reformer, educator.
