London: C. Lockwood & Co, 1864. Second Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good binding. Second Edition of G. G. Delamotte's Mediaeval Alphabets and Initials for Illuminators, with an introduction by J. Willis Brooks. With an illustrated title page and 21 color plates, detailing initials and alphabets from the 9th through 16th centuries. Bookplate on the front pastedown, and bookseller's description pasted on the rear pastedown. Sunning to the spine and perimeter of the boards; minor loss to the extremities of the spine and wear to the joints. Embossed purple cloth with gilt lettering and decoration on the front board. All edges red. Very Good. Very Good binding.
