Trade paperback edition, published by Pantheon, 1986. Stiff heavy weight cover with French flaps. An early trade paperback edition, with the date code of '9/86' on the lower corner of the back flap, and 'B' in the center of the complete number line on the copyright page. The classic true story of the Spiegelman's father's experiences as a survivor of the Holocaust, portions of which were originally serialized in 'Raw' magazine. 159 pages, entirely illustrated by the author in his distinctive style. This copy is not a remainder, not a library discard. Some slight sun fading to the spine so that the gray background on the spine is somewhat lighter than the gray on the rest of the cover. One light horizontal crease to the spine. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. The binding is tight and square. Edges of the text block are clean. Later editions than this one have a somewhat different cover with an added banner at the bottom edge for the subtitle; 'My Father Bleeds History', or an added sticker to the top right side to promote the author's Pulitzer Prize award.
