Probable sole printing of this slim verse collection, tight and handsome -- attractively inscribed and signed by the poet in blue ballpoint on the title: "for / Arnold Gates / cordially / Leo Schottland / Feb '77." ARNOLD F. GATES (1914-93) was a noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar, as well as a Long Island friend and neighbor of Schottland.
