New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1958. The life of Sarah Churchill (1660-1744) spanned six reigns. Like a character in historical fiction, she married a conqueror and ruled a queen.... and that was only the beginning. A generous list of illustrations provided (24 pages of half-tone illustrations). Also provided is a "Titles and Connections" table. Blue boards with gilt to spine. Blind-stamped oval picture to front board. No ownership markings. Text block shows some age-tone. Book has a slight spine lean. Dust jacket is view of Blenheim Palace, built by Sir John Vanbrugh for the first Duke of Marlborough. A sound copy.. Second Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good.
