Blackie, London, No Date (c. 1898). 1st Edition Later Issue. HARDCOVER. 8vo in gilt embossed and decorated blue buckram, gilt embossed school prize stamp to rear cover, prize bookplate on the front paste-down end-paper (dated 1903). 352pp plus 32pp publishers ads at rear. This is a later issue of the first edition, almost identical to the first issue but lacking a date on the title-page and with dark blue printed page-block edges - later issues, 1899 onwards, all declined in binding and paper quality __CONDITION : A well preserved VERY GOOD+ clean and tight copy (few spots of slight shelf rub to cover edges, pages very slightly tanned).
