About the author: "He began writing 'The Mao Affair' in 1989. In 1993 he learned he had 'Lou Gehrig's disease.' It is presumed from this that the publisher's name of "F.O.A." likely stands for Friends Of Angus. Laid in at the front of the book is a thank-you letter to friends she had visited from Christine Spencer, the wife of Archie Spencer, Board Member of the Midwest Independent Publishers Assoc., who, as is referenced in the letter, was instrumental in getting the book published. /.
