About This Item

Minneapolis, MN: F.O.A., 1996. xii, 390 pp., 1/3 black cloth w/ red boards & gold lettering & decoration; Dust jacket in clear archival cover; Book has bump to top corner of page block resulting in a small section of top page corners having small bends; Jacket shows a light bend to top portion of front panel; full-length crease to front inside flap / The books endpapers are illustrated with maps of China. About the author: "He began writing 'The Mao Affair' in 1989. In 1993 he learned he had 'Lou Gehrig's disease.' Despite the crippling effects of his illness, Dr. McDonald continued evising his novel until the last weeks of his life. When he died in 1995, a group of hios friends determined that it deserved publication and contributed their time and money to ensure that this exciting work would find its audience." It is presumed from this that the publisher's name of "F.O.A." likely stands for Friends Of Angus. Laid in at the front of the book is a thank-you letter to friends she had visited from Christine Spencer, the wife of Archie Spencer, Board Member of the Midwest Independent Publishers Assoc., who, as is referenced in the letter, was instrumental in getting the book published. /. Hard Cover. Very Good to Fine/Very Good to Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

About High Castle Books

Hi! My name is Leigh Holleschau, proprietor of High Castle Books. We are located in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, about five miles from the Mexican border. The best-known city which people commonly associate with the area is Brownsville. Our address is 2431 Camino Real Viejo, Mercedes, TX 78579-9486. If you wish to contact us by phone at 956-565-2822, we are usually available between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Central Time. E-mail: HCBooks@rgv.rr.com Rather than divide our stock up into seemingly endless categories, I have coded each item with multiple keywords. This way you can create your own categories. The best way to do this is to use the 'search inventory' function on this page, rather than the 'browse' function, since 'search' accepts not only keywords, but author, title, publisher and other information. For example you could enter the keyword 'mystery' to see all mysteries in stock, and you could further refine your search by selecting the 'first edition' option as well, thereby displaying only first edition mysteries, etc.
